The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) has partnered with the Tacloban Native Delicacies and Handicraft Producers Association – Product 8, Inc. (TNDHPA-PRODUCT-8) to strengthen the operations of local producers in Tacloban and nearby areas.
TNDHPA-Product 8 showcases native food delicacies and handicrafts sourced from local suppliers and producers in the region. Its showroom is located at the Tacloban Convention Center. They began supplying products to the Tacloban City Pasalubong Center in 2007.
In 2013, when Typhoon Yolanda struck the region, local producers experienced significant losses and turned to the local government for support. The association was officially formed In 2014.
Over the years, the association has become the official supplier and distributor of native delicacies and handicrafts for community projects led by local officials. In 2017, the venture became known as Product 8, which continues to operate today.
FSSI is providing additional working capital to help the enterprise sustain its operations and meet the increasing demand for its products. This partnership ensures the association can continue supporting local producers and promoting high-quality regional products.
