This Christmas, we give thanks.
We give thanks for the steady work of our partner communities and social enterprises, and for relationships built on trust and shared purpose. We are grateful for the opportunity to accompany partners over time through challenges, learning, and growth, and to do this work together in ways that uphold FSSI’s commitment to people, planet, and profit.
As we draw this year to a close, I extend my deepest gratitude to our social enterprise partners, members, colleagues, and friends who continue to journey with us in advancing inclusive and sustainable development. Your trust, collaboration, and commitment make our work possible and meaningful.
.
This year holds special significance as FSSI marks 30 years of advancing the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit. Over the decades, we have seen how community-led enterprises, supported by financing, capacity building, and strong partnerships, can create lasting social and environmental value. These principles continue to guide us as we strengthen livelihoods, build resilience, and support enterprises rooted in community and care.
Our accomplishments under the strategic plan reflect this shared direction and the work currently underway across the organization. FSSI is strengthening its focus on social enterprises, particularly those in agriculture and women-owned and women-led enterprises, through the collaborative review and updating of our triple bottom line capacity building program with member organizations. This process includes conducting needs assessments, expanding targeted technical assistance, and building a pool of advisers from within our network to provide sustained support to partner enterprises, including those in underserved areas.
At the same time, we are advancing inclusive finance by actively managing and growing our development and commercial portfolios, improving financial service delivery, and mobilizing complementary external resources to support long-term sustainability. Internally, FSSI is undertaking organizational strengthening through staff development, process review, digitalization and automation efforts, strengthened knowledge management, and ongoing improvements to our monitoring, evaluation, and business continuity systems. These efforts reflect our commitment to translating strategy into action through collective work and sustained partnership.
We are encouraged by our continued participation in spaces that advance collaboration and shared learning. FSSI reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development at the Zero Poverty PH 2030 9th General Assembly and contributed to discussions on scaling community-based solutions. At the 2025 Philippine Social Enterprise Roadmap Conference, we joined social entrepreneurs, policymakers, and ecosystem partners in advancing innovation, financing, and cooperation across the sector.
Our engagement in environmental sustainability and climate action also moved forward through platforms such as the Annual Clean Air Forum and the Renewable Energy Congress in Iloilo. These gatherings allowed us to share lessons from impact finance and community-based energy initiatives, and to advocate for a just energy transition that prioritizes underserved and vulnerable communities.
At the enterprise level, our partnerships with new social enterprises such as KAZE Organic Farm and Tagoc HVC Agriculture Cooperative continue to demonstrate the value of purposeful support. Alongside this, our Partnership Unit Capacity Building Webinar Series strengthened governance, continuity planning, risk management, and records management, helping build resilient institutions capable of navigating uncertainty while sustaining impact.
As we celebrate Christmas, may this season offer space for rest, reflection, and renewed hope. May the coming year open new opportunities for collaboration, learning, and collective action as we continue working toward resilient communities and a more inclusive and sustainable future.
On behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff of FSSI, thank you for walking with us, this year, over the past 30 years, and into the decades ahead.
Warmest Christmas greetings and best wishes for the New Year.
