On Milestones and Momentum: This Month at FSSI
.

Dear partners and colleagues,
This Microfinance Week, we, at the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) join the celebration by honoring our partners who are on the frontlines of providing financial services to communities that need them most. Microfinance is more than access to credit; it is a tool for empowerment, enabling individuals and communities to pursue livelihoods, invest in their future, and break cycles of poverty.
.
Since 1995, FSSI has been committed to supporting organizations that share our vision of inclusive and sustainable development. Through financing and capacity building we work alongside our partners to strengthen social enterprises that serve not only as drivers of local development but as catalysts for community transformation. Guided by the triple bottom line (3BL) strategy we ensure that growth benefits people, protects the environment, and sustains itself for the long term.
In celebration of the National Microfinance Week, we feature ECLOF Philippines Microfinance, Inc. (EPMI) whose story demonstrates how inclusive microfinance supports agriculture, a high-risk sector often avoided by most banks and financial institutions, including many microfinance institutions, yet one of the most important drivers of our nation’s sustenance.
This month, we also usher our 30th founding anniversary on September 6, 2025. In anticipation of this milestone, we are honoring 30 of our social enterprise partners that embody the values we champion. We invite you to learn more about and share the stories of these incredible agents of change.
Additionally, we welcome new social enterprises who have become our partners in recent months – Ifugao Good Shepherd Multi-Purpose Cooperative (IGSMPC), Kabangasan-Mapua Agrarian Reform Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KAMADA MPC), and Triple L Food Products, whose work in agri-finance and local enterprise development brings meaningful change to their communities.
On broader development efforts, we are also proud to share that FSSI has re-affirmed its commitment as one of the lead convenors of Zero Poverty PH 2030. We join other civil society leaders in a shared mission to reduce poverty through collaborative, sustainable approaches.
Reflecting on all these, we have seen how access to fair, responsible, and well-supported financial services can spark livelihoods, nurture community enterprises, and strengthen local economies.
As we look to the years ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deepen partnerships, invest in innovative and sustainable solutions, and champion social enterprises that place people and the planet at the heart of progress. Together with you, our partners, we will continue building a sustainable and just society.
