Strengthening Communities Through Agro-Enterprises
.

This May, as we mark National Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Month, we honor the vital contributions of the men and women who work tirelessly to sustain our communities. Our farmers and fisherfolk form the backbone of the agricultural sector, and their dedication drives both food security and the broader mission of national development.
At the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI), we believe that sustainable agricultural development is essential to building an inclusive future. Guided by our Strategic Plan 2025 to 2029, we’re strengthening our partnerships with social enterprises in agriculture—especially those rooted in communities, led by women, and aligned with our commitment to the triple bottom line (3BL) of people, planet, and profit.
Through our agro-enterprise loans, we provide capital for equipment, infrastructure, inventory, and operations. We also extend wholesale agri-credit loans to community financial institutions, enabling them to support individual farmers and fisherfolk. These financial tools, combined with capacity building opportunities, are designed to help agro-enterprises scale and thrive.
FSSI remains steadfast in its commitment to empower agricultural communities. By supporting social enterprises in this space, we’re not only investing in livelihoods—we’re contributing to a stronger, more sustainable economy.
Let’s continue to work together to create more opportunities for our farmers and fisherfolk to succeed.
