FSSI at 29 – Doubling Down on Social Enterprise Financing and Development
Dear FSSI partners, members, and colleagues in the SE and CSO sectors,
On September 6, 2024, FSSI marked its 29 years of service to communities in the Philippines through social entrepreneurship.
Since 1995, FSSI has been dedicated to advancing social entrepreneurship, directly supporting over 280 triple bottom line (3BL) social enterprises that made and are making meaningful social, environmental, and economic impacts in their communities.
Since May of this year, we have also initiated the process of crafting our strategic plan for the next five years. We are very excited to share this plan with you later this year after we have finalized it.
In the meantime, in line with our commitment towards empowering women-owned and women-led enterprises, we are pleased to announce a new financing opportunity for start-up women social enterprises (WSEs). This initiative addresses the gap in access to financial services for women entrepreneurs through a seed capital investment of Php 300,000 up to Php 500,000 for start-up social enterprises established by women.
We also welcome our new social enterprise partner, Mountain Ridge Christian School, Inc. (MRCSI) in Davao City, which provides accessible education, supporting students in marginalized areas of Davao City.
As we continue our journey nearing three decades in the social enterprise investing space and forge our path for the next five years, I wish to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to our partners, members, and fellow advocates. Your support and collaboration have been instrumental in our journey.
We hope to continue working with you on achieving the goals we will set to accomplish towards 2029.
