The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) has partnered with Ifugao Good Shepherd Multi-Purpose Cooperative (IGSMPC), a cooperative established in 2015 by 27 farmers in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) has partnered with Ifugao Good Shepherd Multi-Purpose Cooperative (IGSMPC), a cooperative established in 2015 by 27 farmers in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
IGSMPC offers a range of financial and agricultural services to uplift the lives of its members, now numbering 7,632. These include savings and lending, trading of farm inputs and produce, and insurance. The cooperative also promotes inclusive and sustainable agriculture through its Farmers Upgrading Program (FUP), which helps equip farmers with the skills and access needed to adopt modern, science-based farming techniques.
FSSI supports IGSMPC through market deepening and expansion under the said program by providing financing to help the cooperative open three new branches and reach an additional 1,000 member-borrowers in 2025. This partnership aims to strengthen community-based agri-enterprises and promote financial inclusion in rural areas.
