On June 9, 2025, the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) and 17 other civil society organizations signed a memorandum of understanding to reaffirm their shared commitment to reduce poverty in the Philippines as lead convenors of Zero Poverty PH 2030 Movement.
Now the ZeP 2030, the movement’s updated strategic plan includes the shift from “Zero Extreme Poverty PH 2030” to broaden the focus from families in extreme poverty to all families living in poverty, while maintaining priority attention to the most vulnerable.
ZeP2030 is a civil society-led initiative working to reduce poverty in the Philippines through a collaborative approach with government and community partners. Its integrated strategy addresses economic development, education, health, and the environment, with the goal of improving incomes and access to essential services for 100,000 families by 2030.
As co-lead convenor of the livelihood thematic cluster, FSSI contributes to shaping the movement’s direction and advancing its mission of inclusive, sustainable development. This role aligns with FSSI’s long-standing work in supporting social enterprises that deliver benefits for communities through incomes, shared profits, and livelihood opportunites.
FSSI, represented by Sixto Donato C. Macasaet, Executive Director, also joined the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Association of Foundations (AF) and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) as co-secretariats of ZeP2030. The signing took place during AF’s 53rd General Assembly on June 4, 2025, and was attended by lead and local convenors.
Both AF and PBSP are members of FSSI.
