The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) joined civil society leaders, partner organizations, and community representatives at the 9th General Assembly of Zero Poverty PH 2030 (ZeP2030) held on October 17, 2025, at the UNILAB Bayanihan Center in Pasig City.
ZeP2030, a civil society-led coalition, continues to push forward its goal of improving the incomes and access to essential social services of 100,000 Filipino families by 2030. Anchored on an integrated approach to poverty alleviation, the coalition works across four key pillars: economic development, education, health, and the environment, to drive systemic and sustainable change.
A defining feature of ZeP2030’s work is its Local Convergences: multi-stakeholder platforms that bring together civil society groups, local governments, cooperatives, enterprises, and community organizations. These convergences localize the coalition’s integrated framework and transform it into community-driven solutions. ZeP2030 has so far established Local Convergences in 12 provinces and cities nationwide, with ongoing efforts to expand its reach to more vulnerable communities.

As one of ZeP2030’s lead convenors, FSSI reaffirmed its support for inclusive development and the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organization emphasized the importance of collaboration, particularly in scaling community-based initiatives that address both immediate needs and long-term socio-economic challenges.
FSSI Executive Director Sixto Donato C. Macasaet, Assistant Director for Development Services Jerome Ignacio, and Knowledge Management, Advocacy, and Communications Officer Nikki Natan represented the organization at the assembly.
The general assembly served as a platform for reinforcing shared goals, refining strategies, and building stronger networks, pushing the collective vision of a zero-poverty Philippines closer to reality.
