FSSI in Partnership with NATCCO Held Training on Organizational Manual and Policy Writing

The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI), in partnership with the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), conducted an Organizational Manual and Policy Writing Training for its social enterprise partners on May 20–21, 2026, in Quezon City.

The two-day training aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in creating, reviewing, and improving organizational manuals and policies. It was designed to help organizations develop clearer systems for consistent operations, good governance, document management, and alignment with their mission and values.

The session was facilitated by resource speakers Ms. Emelina Santos and Camille L. Baluyot of NATCCO.

The training was attended by FSSI social enterprise partners and used lectures, discussions, and workshops to support practical learning and output development.

On the first day, participants discussed the foundations of organizational policies, including the purpose and importance of policies, the characteristics of good policies, and the difference between policies and procedures. They also learned about the policy-making process, policy formats, major policy areas, policy manual development, records management, and communicating policies to stakeholders.

.
On the second day, participants applied their learnings through a small group workshop on policy review and writing. They reviewed existing policies or drafted new ones, identified gaps and areas for improvement, and presented their workshop outputs for feedback and discussion.

.
The training formed part of FSSI’s continuing capacity-building support for social enterprise partners. Through activities like this, FSSI helps strengthen organizational systems, governance practices, and enterprise sustainability, guided by the triple bottomline of people, planet, and profit.

FSSI continues to support social enterprises in building stronger internal systems that can help them operate more effectively, serve their communities better, and sustain their impact over the long term.
