The Foundation for a Sustainable Society Inc. (FSSI) convened a roundtable discussion titled “Sharing Lessons from Case Studies and the Pilot Implementation of the SSEE Solar Financing Products” on April 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at B Hotel, Quezon City.
The session brought together solar enterprises, cooperatives, financial institutions, and support organizations to discuss lessons from the pilot implementation of FSSI’s Small Solar Energy Enterprise (SSEE) solar financing products.
The roundtable presented findings from case studies of two solar enterprises supported by FSSI and gathered insights from the pilot run of solar loan products provided to installers, cooperatives, and financing partners. It also provided space for participants to discuss operational, financial, market, and scaling challenges in solar financing.
The program opened with remarks from Mr. Sixto Donato Macasaet, FSSI Executive Director, followed by an opening engagement and discussion facilitated by Mr. Marcos Perez. Lito Ignacio Villar, FSSI Consultant, presented an overview of the solar financing initiative, including the solar loan products and pilot partners.
Selected participants also shared their experiences, challenges, and recommendations from the pilot implementation. In the afternoon, the roundtable discussion focused on practical insights and recommendations to improve the design, implementation, and scaling of the SSEE solar financing products.
The session closed with a synthesis of key messages and next steps, led by Mr. Jerome Ignacio, FSSI Assistant Director for Development Services.
Renewable energy is one of FSSI’s priority value chains under its current strategic plan. Through initiatives such as the SSEE solar financing products, FSSI aims to support more social enterprises engaged in renewable energy and contribute to practical, community-based solutions that advance the triple bottomline of people, planet, and profit.
