The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) held a planning session with a core group of local organizations on March 3–4, 2026, in Catbalogan City, Samar, as part of its continuing engagement in Samar Province.
The session aimed to establish a clear and coordinated plan that would guide FSSI and the core group in implementing and sustaining initiatives in the province. The planning process was aligned with FSSI’s triple bottomline framework of people, planet, and profit.
During the session, participating organizations identified focus sectors and potential social enterprise partners that may be supported in Samar. The activity also served as a venue to discuss possible areas of collaboration, priority needs, and next steps for strengthening local social enterprises and community-based initiatives.
The core group members who participated included the Philippine Cooperative Central Fund Federation (PCF), Western Samar Development Foundation (WESADEF), an affiliate of Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Asia (PHILDHRRA) and WAND Women Organization, Inc., and Christian Life Center (CLC) – Child Development Center, an affiliate of WAND. VICTO National is also part of the core group.
Through this engagement, FSSI continued to work with local partners in identifying opportunities to support social enterprises, strengthen community livelihoods, and advance inclusive and sustainable development in Samar Province.
