FSSI joins NATCCO’s 47th General Assembly

The National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) celebrated its 47th General Assembly with the theme “Building Trust, Climate Resilience, and Sustainable Futures: Happy Members of Secured Co-ops in an Integrated Network.” The event, held on May 3 to 5, 2024 in Davao City, attracted over 1,200 cooperative leaders and managers from across the country.

FSSI Executive Director Sixto Donato C. Macasaet joined the assembly as a plenary speaker. Macasaet’s address focused on development, poverty reduction, and the pivotal role cooperatives play in enhancing the well-being of their members.

“It is important for co-ops to study the major opportunities and constraints for improved well-being in the areas where you operate,” Macasaet stated. “What are your members’ most important problems? Is it low farm productivity/income? Is it stunting/malnutrition, or poor reading comprehension skills of students, or environmental degradation?”
