FSSI invests in women coops with NATCCO

In the pursuit of sustainable development and women economic empowerment, the Foundation for a Sustainable Society Inc. (FSSI) has partnered with its member organization, the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) in a co-investment arrangement under its Investing in Women (IW) project.

IW, an initiative of the Australian Government, has partnered with the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) in 2020 to support women-owned and -led social enterprises (WSEs). Programmatically active for 10 years, the project involves an investment capital from IW and FSSI of more than Php 40 Million to support the business growth of WSEs.

Through this co-investment arrangement, FSSI and NATCCO extended support to three (3) WSEs to inject capital in their various enterprises: (1) Lourdes Multipurpose Cooperative in Occidental Mindoro for the procurement of agri-farm inputs (2) Kisandal Multipurpose Cooperative in Cotabato to support both their agri-farm inputs trading and their general store operations and (3) Bacbacan Multipurpose Cooperative in Sultan Kudarat to bolster their palay and agri-inputs trading.
