A learning session on Generative AI (artificial intelligence) was jointly hosted by the Association of Foundations (AF), Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI), Philippine Council for NGO Certification, Inc. (PCNC), and Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) on July 25, 2023 at The Hub at Araneta City in Cubao, Quezon City. The gathering saw a diverse audience, among civil society organizations (CSOs), representatives from the social enterprise sector, academia, and the microfinance sector.
The learning session aimed to shed light on the transformative power of Generative AI and what it could mean for non-government organizations (NGOs).

Mr. Elvin Uy, Executive Director of PBSP and Chairperson of FSSI, facilitated the discussion. He explored its core concepts, technologies, and practical applications, emphasizing the potential benefits it offers, particularly in the work of CSOs.
Moreover, the session delved into essential ethical considerations surrounding Generative AI, such as transparency, bias, and privacy. On the other hand, the session also explored how the development sector can play an important role in driving the progress of Generative AI to benefit the poor and marginalized communities.
