he Kauyagan Savers Multi-Purpose Cooperative unveiled its Center for Progress, Peace, and Resilience on August 8, 2023, in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. The two-storey building will house the cooperative’s consumer store and office.
Kauyagan Savers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Kauyagan MPC), formerly Kauyagan Savers Cooperative, was established in 2004 with only 27 members. It now has 1,532 regular members, with associate members numbering 2,125, the majority of whom are women. The Kauyagan Center is an expansion of their consumer store, which they have been operating since 2017. In 2020, they initiated a program to consolidate and market the agricultural products of their members. Kauyagan also offers various other services, including savings and credit, loans for OFW women from Impasug-ong, vehicle and gadget loans, bill payments, ATM services, and educational assistance.
The building of the Kauyagan Center was supported in part by the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) through its Investing in Women (IW) Project. IW is an initiative of the Australian Government that seeks to support women-owned and -led social enterprises through financial services and technical assistance. Kauyagan MPC is an investee of the IW project through its co-investment arrangement with the Federation of People’s Sustainable Development Cooperative (FPSDC), a member organization of FSSI.
In his message, FSSI Executive Director Sixto Donato C. Macasaet extended his warmest congratulations to the leaders, staff, and members of Kauyagan MPC for this milestone.

We share with you the hope that this new building will not only house your office and businesses, but, more than that, will be the center and the foundation for dialogue and action towards progress, peace and resilience,” he said.
