Bayan Academy, in partnership with the BPI Foundation, hosted the 2023 Philippine Social Entrepreneurship Summit on February 23 and 24, 2023. The Summit, which was held online brought together numerous stakeholders under the theme “Isang Adhikain: Expanding Horizons.”
The event was supported by the Bayan Innovation Group (BIG), Bayan Social Economy Action Research Foundation (SEARCH), the Society for the Advancement of Professional Social Entrepreneurship (SAPSE), Entrego, BPI BanKo, and Ayala Land, Inc. The event aimed to promote the establishment and development of social enterprises in the Philippines.
The National Social Enterprise Development Roadmap, a comprehensive five-year strategic plan aimed to promote the advancement of social enterprises across all sectors and regions of the country, was at the core of the Summit. The roadmap will be implemented in collaboration with a governance council composed of the different stakeholders the social enterprise sector, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), associations, cooperatives, non-government organizations (NGOs), corporations, and the academe.
The Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI) takes part in the council as co-Vice Chairperson of the NGO subsector.
