
Quezon City, May 24, 2022 – The Foundation for a Sustainable Society Inc. (FSSI) held its 34th General Assembly at the B Hotel in Quezon City.
During the assembly, FSSI Chairperson Elvin Uy, Executive Director of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), shared FSSI’s accomplishments and learnings from the past year. Mr. Uy, who was re-elected as Chairperson during the GA, called for collective action and encouraged FSSI members to continue working together towards FSSI’s vision.
“Post-pandemic recovery is a long and arduous path, but it presents an opportunity to rebuild better and fairer. Let us journey together and set our sights on a shared vision of a sustainable future,” said Mr. Uy.

FSSI also welcomed new trustees elected during the General Assembly. Ms. Oyen Dorotan, National Coordinator of the WAND Women Organization and Ms. Agnes Bolaños, Board Member of the Mindanao Coalition of Development NGO Networks (MINCODE), joined the FSSI Board of Trustees as Secretary and Auditor, respectively.

Continuing their terms in the FSSI board are Mr. Nestor Carbonera, former Chairperson of the Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (PhilDHRRA) who was re-elected as Vice Chairperson, Mr. Dick Balderrama, National Coordinator of the Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies (PHILSSA) who was elected Treasurer and Mr. Joe Detablan, Chief Executive Officer of VICTO National Cooperative Federation and Development Center (VICTO). Furthermore, Ms. Bernadette Toledo, Chief Executive Officer of MASS-SPECC Cooperative Development Center (MASS-SPECC), assumed the organization’s representation in the FSSI Board.
FSSI also took the opportunity to express gratitude to its former trustees for their dedication and service. Ms. Tetay Plantilla, Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Peoples’ Sustainable Development Cooperative (FPSDC) and former Treasurer, and Ms. Josie Cardona, Board Member of the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO), former Auditor have ended their terms.

The 34th General Assembly showcased FSSI’s commitment to supporting the development of sustainable communities by investing in social enterprises (SEs) that adopt the triple bottom line (3BL) of people, planet, and profit.
